Tournament Rules
Format
With multiple teams registered across multiple divisions, there will be a lot of matches and we need to keep games moving.
Please be at your court and ready to play by the time listed on the schedule. If a court is open, games will start early.

Pool Play
Teams are guaranteed three pool play matches. Final format details are dependent on the number of teams registered for each level. Details and a schedule will be posted on the Schedule & Bracket page. Our goal is to host all of pool play on Saturday with the tournament bracket taking place Sunday, but this may change depending on number of registered teams and gym availability.

Tournament Bracket
Multiple brackets will be determined based on pool play. Teams are guaranteed two tournament matches. Although each team signed up for the division they believe they are best suited for, please be prepared that some teams may be moved up or down a division depending on pool play games, how they compare to other teams at this tournament, and site director suggestions. We want to keep playing levels as equal as possible while still creating a fun, competitive tournament.

Playoffs typically start on Sunday. Site directors will be at each site to post schedules and keep games moving, but it is your responsibility to know when you play next. Playoff brackets will be posted on the Mankorah 2025 Facebook Event page. Sunday matches will start at 8:00 AM at the earliest.

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR SITE FOR THE NIGHT WITHOUT CHECKING WITH YOUR SITE DIRECTOR TO BE SURE YOU ARE DONE FOR THE DAY.
Rules
NO ALCOHOL OR TOBACCO USE ON FACILITY GROUNDS.
Please be respectful of this policy as local leagues and tournaments depend on future use of these facilities.

-
Teams should be comprised of three guys and three girls and they should alternate in rotation/serving order.
-
You may bring a guy up from the back row to block when there is only one guy in the front row.
-
Girl Rule - PLEASE READ. If there is more than one contact, one of them DOES NOT need to be by a female. However, if all three contacts are made by men, the third contact CANNOT be played above the plane of the net (this includes back row attacks)

-
If teams are short a guy, they may have four girls and two guys, but one of the girls must be designated as the third guy and rotations must be followed. You cannot play with four guys and two girls.
-
You cannot play on more than one team. If a team has an injury, they are able to add someone who has not played to their roster or play with the remaining players.

-
If teams are short one player due to injury or unforeseen circumstances, they must follow the ghost rule. You do not have to lose a point in service rotation, but you must track your ghost for all rotations. This means there will be three rotations with only two people in the front row. You cannot register with five players.

-
If teams are short one player and are playing with two guys and three girls, they can bring the left-back guy up to hit/block when both guys are in the backrow.

-
If a team is short two players, you do not have to track the ghosts, but you do have to follow a rotation. If you're playing with four, there would be two front row and two backrow players.

-
Teams must rotate on the first side out of each set.
-
There are no refs. All matches are ref and score your own. Any disagreements should be replayed.
-
No net. If you touch the net, it’s the opponent’s point.
-
For safety reasons, there is no pursuit rule.
-
A player cannot go into another courts. If this happens, they are considered out of bounds and it is the opponent’s point.
-
No crossing the center-line (under the net).
-
Matches will be played on a men’s height net (7' 11 5/8")
-
No Liberos. You may use substitutions if you have extra players, but they can only sub in and out for one player of the same sex for that game.
-
Uniforms and/or numbers are not required.
-
B/C Level Pool/Tournament Play: No Jump Serves
-
C Level Pool/Tournament Play: No quick sets; teams may rotate a player in at the serve.
Payouts
There will be payouts for each division. However, the majority of tournament entry fees go to facility rentals and T-shirts for all of the players. Our goal is to provide a good time for everyone who plays!
